Swing Trade Signals | Exxon Mobil | XOM Daily Chart

The stock market has been sinking for a few days without release to the up-side. It’s best not to catch the falling knife. When a bounce actually does happen though, it might make for a profitable swing trading situation to the long side.

Exxon Mobil Stock (XOM) Looks like a great way to enjoy any profits from a bounce or short squeeze in the broader markets. The daily chart of XOM shows a set up for the Rubber Band Swing Trading Strategy. Click that link for more info on that strategy – it will open in a new window.

XOM Swing Trade Entry

XOM Exxon Mobil StockThe idea is to wait until Exxon Mobil’s price goes back up to cross the bottom light blue band. This is the 40 period Keltner Channel with a standard deviation of 2.0. The target will be the center band and the stop loss will be the lowest band – shown in red. This swing trade set-up makes sure that you always are trading with the trend.

Swing Trade Signal | AMZN Sell Short (but not yet)

So Amazon AMZN “popped” on earnings news. Will the rally continue?… or will it fizzle with the dropping tide of the broad market. I am getting set up to trade AMZN to the short side, but only if the rally fails. Such a failure has the potential to produce a sharp sell off that could prove to be easy to swing trade.

As a caution, allow me to communicate to you the risks of stock investing and especially swing trading. It’s risky and you might lose all of your money. There is more information about the risks of investing in securities available at the SEC website. Consult with your adviser prior to committing real money. Follow my swing trades for entertainment purposes only.

Rubber Band Swing Trade | AMZN

In order to catch the maybe coming fizzle of AMZN, I plan to employ the rubber band swing trading strategy. If AMZN takes off “north” from here I won’t be in the short trade at all. If AMZN starts its way down though, I will set an order to get short at the 2nd to the upper band. As of right now the swing trade entry target is the inner and upper band (light blue on the chart). The price says $207.57, but as AMZN trades forward in time this target will change. Keep an eye on this band (refer to the rubber band swing strategy page, if needed) and look to enter short as price penetrates.

AMZN Swing Trade Stop Loss

The target for the AMZN swing trade is the center band (grey) and the stop loss is the upper band (red). Be sure and set a hard stop at the market here. If AMZN dips and goes up from there, the rally could be relentless. Don’t ruin your swing trading career and any chance of success just because you didn’t want to take a small loss on one short swing trade gone wrong.

Swing Trading Signals and Set-ups | AAPL, BA, IBM, MMM

Swing Trading Signals and Set-ups | AAPL, BA, IBM, MMM

Powerful swing trading strategy for traders who wish to always trade with the trend and enjoy a high percent win. Losing swing traders can start here to change results and find consistent profits in today’s tough markets.

Warning – stocks are risky investments. Consult with a professional advisor and learn about the risks of trading before making a decision involving stocks and other markets.

This week’s broader stock market action makes for tough choices for traders, as price has been mostly range-bound. We will therefore focus on shorter term swing trading set-ups and attempt to capture swing trading profits as price moves back and forth in the larger range. I always prefer to swing trade in longer time frames as they make considerably more consistent profits and have much lower transaction cost impact on a trading account. I was able to find one rubber band swing trade in the weekly chart time frame (MMM)

Swing Trading Signals on the 60-Mintue Charts | AAPL, BA, IBM

AAPL swing trading signalsThe short sellers have really been going after AAPL it seems, and it appears as if AAPL has not been going up with the broader stock market. If a short squeeze develops, there may be swing trading profit opportunity for rubber band swing traders. Watch this one closely and be ready to trade to the long side. BA and IBM hit their upper extremes last week and may present a good place to go short this week according to the rubber band swing trading strategy on the 60-minute chart. Keep them in your watchlist and only take entry when the time is right.

As with all 60-minute chart rubber band swing trades do not place overnight entry stop orders. Price may gap too far past the entry place and leave you with a terrible entry. This is not acceptable. Pass on rubber band swing trades in which you can’t get an execution close to the desired entry price. Passing on trades and not chasing is part of what it takes to be a successful swing trader in the long term.

Rubber Band Swing Trading Signal | MMM Weekly Chart Long

MMM swing trade rubber bandMMM has turned green after weeks of selling off and moving sideways. Swing trading in this term is less demanding and makes it easier to profit in many ways. Also consider selling out of the money covered calls with such a trade. Leave plenty of room for price to hit its target and just pocket a few extra dollars to pay for transaction costs etc. Click the weekly chart of MMM to enlarge.
