AAPL | 60-Minute Chart Long

When will AAPL pop again? Who knows, but when it does launch use the 60-minute chart along with the >>> rubber band swing trading strategy <<<< (opens in a new window) as it might be a great way to profit from the move. As always with shorter-term charts and trades, do not get caught in morning gap situations – simply pass on the trade if entry does not come at the desired location.

JPM | Weekly Chart Long

This swing trading signal is still valid, we think. Any of the big bank/financial stocks will do, GS, etc. At some point the banks could recover in this time frame and this is the way to be there if it happens. See the previous swing trade signal post.

DIS | Weekly Long

The same goes for DIS, which seems to follow the broad stock market fairly close. Take advantage of this swing opportunity through DIS. See the previous swing trading post -we think the trade is still quite valid.

CSCO | Monthly Chart “Right Now”

This could have been spotted earlier, as price is sitting right on its entry. The rubber band swing trading strategy could end up capturing a large chunk of what might be a major rally in CSCO. The swing trading signal calls for going long right here at its current price. Don’t chase.

XOM | 60-Minute Chart Short | Overbought?

Oil has been going up and so has XOM. A decent correction in this action is likely at some point soon but do not get run over be the freight train that is the current trend. Use the rubber band swing trade strategy to grab a slice of the short-term panic when the bottom appears to start falling out.

JPM | Weekly Chart Long | Will the banks join the rally?

Stocks seldom rally as a group unless the banks go along with them. Maybe they will, maybe they won’t – but if they do, consider grabbing your piece with this long set-up on the weekly chart.

FCX | Daily Chart Long | Here comes copper and FCX

FCX is right on the line for a buy on the daily chart so watch things closely. Only enter according tot he rubber band swing trading rules and do not chase if the stock gaps up beyond the entry target (as always).

DIS | Weekly Chart Long | Follow the market

DIS often trades right along with the broad stock market and it has been lately. Since there is no worse feeling than missing a major move, this would be a great way to make sure to profit if the market really takes off.

It’s always difficult to predict market direction. The Rubber Band Swing Trading Strategy waits until the trend changes and always trades in the direction of that new trend. Here are a few rubber band swing trade setups I am looking at for this week – whatever direction we end up with.

AMZN Swing Trade Short | 60 Minute Chart

If the market tanks this week, this trade should be a winner. Watch out for price opening below the entry point and then spending the next hour going right back up into an uptrend though, especially on Monday. These fakies can be costly. Instead of getting caught by a gap like this with a good till canceled order, wait to set your “sell short stop entry market” order until after the market is open. Make it good for the day only. If price gaps below the entry target, just pass on the trade.

BA | Swing Trade Short | 60 Minute chart

I’m still watching for long entry on the weekly chart, but in the mean time BA offers a more stable and high volume alternative to AMZN.

AXP | Swing Trade Long | Daily Chart

There is always the chance that the market can really take of and rally from here. If it does, I don’t want to miss it. AXP is poised to rally if it can make it up to our rubber band entry level.

BIDU | Swing Trade Long | Daily Chart

BIDU is the high tech screamer alternative to the AXP trade. If tech takes off – don’t miss out.

We are looking to get short AAPL according to the Rubber Band Swing Trading Strategy. The daily chart of AAPL shows the short swing trading set-up. Please be aware of the risks of swing trading before investing real money in stock trades.

We are putting in a stop market order to sell short AAPL at $393.70. If AAPL opens significantly lower on Friday Morning then we will abandon this swing trade. The profit target (buy to cover) for AAPL is $382.80 and the stop loss will be placed at $404.55.

Swing Trading Signals | Rubber Band Swing Trading

I’m looking at three rubber band swing trading strategy signals on the 60-minute and daily charts. They are all trades to the short side. If the stock market turns around here, these stocks might make great rubber band swing trades. If the broad stock market continues higher then we can simply abandon these swing trading ideas. The rubber band swing trading strategy, by nature, will only trade with the trend.

Swing Trading Signal | WMT

Walmart has made a nice up-trend on the 60-minute chart and may be showing signs of exhaustion. If price breaks down here, enter a short trade from the 2.0 standard deviation of the 40-period Keltner Channel (light blue upper/inner band) and target the 40-EMA (center band). V has broken out of it’s recent high prices on the daily chart and it might continue to strong new highs. So why are we looking to go short? Because the breakout has come in tough stock market times and with little conviction. If price reverses here, there will be a lot of trapped momentum players running for the exits. Back to the 60-minute time frame for swing trading. Bank stocks got a lift when value guru Warren Buffet stepped in to buy BAC, but now with WM we see a head and shoulders on the 60-min chart. Long-Term Swing Trades – EUO, NXG

Stock Market Update

Very short-term traders should align their trades to the short side and seek out short sale set-ups. Intermediate-term traders should hang back a bit as the market is still trading in a range. Long-term traders/investors should be wary of stocks, which are in a major down trend.

Swing Trading – EUO

Has anyone else been waiting to see the Euro lose value from all of these crisis events? I have, but the Euro has been moving sideways. Well not anymore. Price has ejected out of it’s base and has begun what might be a powerful trend. The EUO is the ultra-short Euro. (Go long EUO to be short the Euro, it’s an ETF that moves opposite to the direction of the Euro).

Swing Trading – NXG

Another long-term “position” swing trade I like is NXG. It’s small cap gold mining stock that has ejected out of it’s base on strong volume. It’s a classic “CANSLIM cup-with handle” or “3rd watch” pattern. Whatever you call it, this could be a home-run trade.
